Sutton-in-Ashfield sits right on our doorstep — ten minutes from the yard — so it's one of the areas we're on most weeks. Like much of Ashfield it's a former framework-knitting and mining town, so the housing runs from Victorian terraces near the centre through inter-war semis to the later estates around Huthwaite, Skegby and Stanton Hill.
