Roofers in Derby

Derby gives us as much variety as anywhere we work. The city runs from dense Victorian terraces in Normanton and Pear Tree, through the big stretches of 1930s semis in Littleover, Mickleover and Allestree, to modern estates on the edges. Slate on the older stock, concrete and clay tile on the inter-war and post-war housing, and flat roofs on no end of rear extensions.

We cover all of it — slate and tile re-roofs, lead and valley repairs, EPDM rubber flat roofs, conservatory roof conversions, and full fascia, soffit and guttering work. We're a Mansfield family firm covering Derby regularly, so you get a proper local outfit rather than a call-centre chain, with a written quote inside 48 hours.

Roofing in Derby — what we see

  • Victorian terraces in Normanton and Pear Tree are typically slate with lead valleys — repair and matching work more often than full replacement.
  • The big inter-war semi belt (Littleover, Mickleover, Allestree) is now at re-roof age on its original tiles.
  • A lot of those same semis gained a conservatory in the 1990s — swapping the tired polycarbonate for an insulated tiled roof turns it back into a room you can actually use in January.
  • Covers the DE postcodes across the city and out towards Spondon, Chaddesden and Mickleover.

Questions we get from Derby customers

How much does a roof cost?
Depends entirely on size, materials and access. Indicative ranges: a flat-roof garage from £1,500, a full re-roof on a semi from £6,000–£14,000, a conservatory roof replacement from £5,760. We come out for a free survey, take measurements and photos, then send a fixed written quote within 48 hours. No obligation.
How quickly can you start?
Survey within a few days of you ringing. Quote in writing within 48 hours of the survey. Once the quote is accepted, most jobs start within 2–4 weeks depending on scaffold lead times and weather. Emergency leaks: same-day or next-day call-outs in Mansfield and nearby.
Are you insured? What about guarantees?
Yes — £5m public liability and £10m employers' liability. Every job carries a 10-year guarantee — insurance-backed on full roof replacements — on top of whatever manufacturer warranty the materials carry (Firestone 20yr on rubber, Marley/Sandtoft varies). Written guarantee handed over on completion, and on re-roofs your deposit is protected through our IWA (Independent Warranty Association) membership.
Do you take a deposit?
Yes — a materials deposit (usually around 20%) once you've seen and signed the written quote, never before. On re-roofs it's also protected through our IWA (Independent Warranty Association) membership — independent deposit protection, so if anything happened to us before the job started, you'd get it back. Balance is due on completion.
