Fascias, soffits & guttering
UPVC replacements in white, anthracite, oak or rosewood. FreeFoam approved installer.
The painted-timber fascia and soffit boards on most pre-1990s houses rot out eventually. Once the paint flakes, water gets in, and you've got a maintenance problem that comes back every two years. UPVC replacement gets rid of the painting forever and gives the front of the house a tidy facelift.
We can do the lot or just the bits that have failed. Full replacement means new fascia boards, soffit boards, bargeboards, guttering and downpipes — a complete refresh that takes 2-3 days on a typical semi. Targeted replacement means we tackle just the rotten sections and match the existing.
FreeFoam approved installer — same warranty as you'd get from any of the big national brands, supported locally.
Guttering is the part people leave longest and regret most. A blocked or sagging gutter doesn't just overflow — it soaks the wall below it, and on a cavity wall that damp tracks inward until it shows up as a stain on a bedroom wall. By the time it's visible inside, the fascia behind the gutter has usually gone too. If you can see plant growth in the gutter line, or staining down the brickwork under a joint, that's the point to get it looked at rather than after the next hard winter.
Ventilation is the bit that gets skipped. Older painted-timber soffits breathed through the gaps in the boards; a UPVC replacement fitted flush seals the roof space up, and a sealed loft grows condensation on the underside of the felt, which drips onto the insulation and eventually the ceiling. Every roofline we fit gets continuous soffit ventilation to current Building Regs — it isn't an upgrade, it's the difference between a job that lasts and one that causes a problem two winters later.
We'll tell you when you don't need the full job. If the fascia timber behind the gutter is sound and it's only the guttering that has failed, that's a gutter replacement, not a roofline replacement, and it's a fraction of the cost. Scaffold goes up either way, so if you're within a couple of years of needing the boards done it's usually worth doing both while the access is paid for — we'll give you both figures and let you decide.
